Get Organized!

Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather all of the ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Wash blueberries gently in a strainer. Set out to dry partially on a clean dry dish towel or paper towel.

Slice the onion in half from the root to the tip and peel off the outer skin. Then, place the flat side down on the cutting board and slice horizontally from the tip to the root, leaving the root intact to hold the slices together. Slice across the onion in the other direction to dice the onion.

Remove the peel from the garlic, and grate finely with a rasp. Alternatively, you can mince the garlic finely with a chef’s knife.

In a large mixing bowl add ground turkey, diced onion, garlic, allspice, sage and egg then mix until well combined. Add blueberries and stir gently until mixed well throughout.

Shape this mixture into a log then cut into 6 even pieces. Gently form those pieces into patties about ½ inch thick.

Get Cooking!

Add 2 teaspoons of canola oil to the frying pan, then preheat on medium-high heat, about 1 – 2 minutes.

Fry patties for 3 – 4 minutes on either side until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F. Serve immediately.
