Strawberry Jam

This simple jam recipe is made without pectin, and it is easy to substitute fresh berries. The key is to cook the jam long enough so that it gels, and reduce the sugar.”

1 pound strawberries, diced1/2 cup sugar1 lemon, juiced

Gather your mis en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Remove the green stems and dice the strawberries.

Cut the lemon in half and reserve one half for another use. Squeeze the juice from 1 side of the lemon. Measure the sugar for the jam.

Get Cooking!

In a medium pot, add the strawberries, sugar and lemon juice. Cook over medium high heat for 1015 minutes until mixture is reduced by ½, stirring frequently to make sure it does not burn or reduce too far. Let cool to thicken.
