Garlic Confit

Confit is a chef term referring to a food item being cooked slowly while submerged in a fat. This recipe cooks the garlic in oil which infuses the oil with amazing roasted garlic flavour!

Ingredients
2 bulbs garlic, peeled Neutral oil, such as canola or grapeseed, enough to completely cover the garlic in a pan
Equipment
Large, high sided ovenproof panMeasuring cupsAluminum foil

Get Organized!

Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Separate the garlic cloves and remove the peels.

Measure out the oil.

Preheat the oven to 250°F.

Get Cooking!

Add the garlic cloves to the pan and cover with oil.

Cover the pan with aluminum foil and place in the oven for 3 hours.

Allow the oil to cool, then use as a base for a pizza, or drizzle over some crusty bread.
