Get Prepped!

Measure all ingredients except for water into a large mixing bowl. Mix well with hands until shortening is fully incorporated. Slowly add water, ¼ cup at a time, until dough forms a ball and is smooth. Divide into 14 even pieces, roll into a ball and let rest 30 minutes to an hour.

Get Cooking!

Roll the dough out to about the size of a small dinner plate. Preheat the large frying pan over medium high heat. Cook the tortilla 2 – 3 minutes on each side, until it begins to slightly bubble and brown very lightly.
