Growing Chefs! Ontario Crema


Mexican crema is a thickened cream, similar to crème frâiche. If you can’t find crema at the store, this recipe makes a great substitute.
Makes 2 cups
2 cups sour cream1 lime, juiced and zested1 teaspoon cumin Salt to taste

Get Organized!

Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Carefully zest the lime using a rasp into a bowl. Cut the lime in half and squeeze all the juice into the bowl with the zest.

Measure the cumin into the lime juice. Measure the sour cream into a bowl.

Get Cooking!

Mix all of the ingredients together and add a pinch of salt. Allow to set for at least 20 minutes in the fridge and adjust seasoning before serving. If desired, transfer to a squeeze bottle for easy service.
