Get Organized!

Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

In a medium bowl, combine canola oil, eggs and apple sauce and mix well.

In a separate bowl, combine the spices, salt, baking powder, diced apple and flour and mix well.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and use a spatula to mix until combined with no lumps.

Get Cooking!

Spray the donut tray well with non-stick spray, or alternatively brush with canola oil.

Fill the donut tray about ¾ full (should be roughly ¼ cup of batter).

Place into the oven and bake for 15 – 18 minutes, until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before removing the donuts from the tray.

While the donuts are still warm but not too fragile, coat in either cinnamon sugar or with your choice of icing and enjoy!
