London, Ontario – May 5, 2026 — On Friday evening, Growing Chefs! Ontario proudly welcomed supporters, donors, and community members to a sold-out fundraising dinner celebrating the culinary legacy of Chef Chris Squire and the historic Auberge du Petit Prince restaurant, now the home of Growing Chefs! Ontario Headquarters,
On Friday, May 1, 2026, Chef Squire returned to the Auberge kitchen, where he spent 20 years establishing the restaurant as one of London’s most beloved dining destinations. Guests were treated to a thoughtfully curated culinary retrospective, featuring a collection of signature dishes and beloved menu items from Chef Squire’s time at the helm.
The exclusive evening also served as a meaningful reflection of the continued evolution of the Auberge space. Since becoming home to Growing Chefs! Ontario nearly a decade ago, the historic building has been transformed into a vibrant centre for food education, community programming, and culinary initiatives that now reach thousands of Londoners each year.
“Auberge du Petit Prince (and Chef Squire) has a special place in Londoner’s hearts. So many people have experienced meaningful moments in the space over the years,” said Andrew Fleet, Growing Chefs! Ontario Executive Director. “It was very moving to bring people together to celebrate all those wonderful memories – and to raise money for programs that help children and families create new, meaningful food memories today just brings it all full circle. It was a very special evening and we are very grateful to have had the opportunity to host it.”
The event raised over $22,000 which will directly support Growing Chefs! Ontario’s food education programs, including in-school cooking and gardening classes, camps, community workshops, and initiatives designed to improve food literacy across the region.
Growing Chefs! Ontario extends its sincere thanks to Chef Chris Squire, event attendees, donors, volunteers, and all guests who helped make this one-night-only experience such a memorable success.
