Sugar & Spice Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Don’t throw away the pumpkin seeds from the pumpkin! Roast them for this perfect after school snack!

2 cups pumpkin seeds2 tablespoons vegetable oil2 tablespoons maple syrup2 teaspoons cinnamon1/2 teaspoon nutmeg1/4 teaspoon allspice1/4 teaspoon salt

Get Organized

Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment and ingredients needed for the recipe before you get started.

Get Prepped!

Measure out all of the spices into a bowl and stir together.

Measure out the maple syrup, cooking oil, and pumpkin seeds. Keep separate.

Get Cooking!

Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the oil and pumpkin seeds. Stir the pumpkin seeds continuously until they begin to change colour and smell toasty. Reduce the heat and add the maple syrup and spice mixture. Continue stirring until the maple syrup begins to thicken a little and you can smell the spices.

Immediately pour the pumpkin seeds out onto a tray. Allow to cool slightly before eating.
