Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Remove the green stems and dice the strawberries into pieces about 1 cm.

Cut the lemon in half, squeeze out as much juice as possible, and discard the seeds.

Measure ½ cup of sugar.

Get Cooking!

Add strawberries, lemon juice, and sugar to a large pot and bring the strawberries to a simmer over medium high heat.

Let the strawberries cook for about 20 minutes, until the mixture has reduced and thickened slightly. The strawberry sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
