Get Organized!

Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Open the can of chickpeas and strain out the liquid. Rinse the chickpeas very well and put them into the blender.

Measure the pumpkin puree (this can be homemade from fresh pumpkin or storebought), maple syrup, plant based milk, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla.

Add a pinch of baking powder (this makes it taste like cake batter!), and a pinch of salt.

Get Cooking!

Turn the blender on high, and blend until very smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add more plant based milk one tablespoon at a time until the mixture blends well. You can also use a food processor for this, but make sure that you run it until the hummus is very smooth.

Taste and season with additional spices or maple syrup as needed.
