Using a rasp, grate garlic very finely. Alternatively, mince garlic finely using a chef’s knife.

Using a rasp, remove the zest from a lemon. Cut the lemon in half, and squeeze out as much juice as possible, discarding the seeds.

Get Cooking!

Fill up a medium pot with steamer attachment with 2 – 3 inches of water, place the broccoli in the steamer. Once the broccoli comes to a boil, let it steam for approximately 4 minutes, until broccoli is tender.

Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a small frying pan over medium low heat. When oil is warmed, add the garlic and cook until fragrant, approximately 60 seconds.

Add the lemon zest and juice to the olive oil and set aside.

Remove broccoli from the steamer and strain water. Toss the broccoli in the lemon and garlic olive oil mixture, and season with a pinch of pepper, and salt to taste.
