Kachumber Salad

Kachumber comes from the Hindi word describing two mixed raw vegetables, and this fresh salad of cucumber, onion and tomato is a great compliment to curries.

Ingredients
1 English cucumber, sliced1 red onion, sliced thin4 Roma tomatoes, seeded and sliced1/4 cup cilantro leaves, chopped2 tablespoons mint leaves, chopped2 lemons, juiced1 teaspoon cumin, ground1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper salt to taste pepper to taste

Get Organized!

Gather all of your ingredients and equipment before you start!

Get Prepped!

Slice the cucumber in half, then into 2 – 3 centimeter thick half-moon slices.

Remove the root and tip from the onion. Cut in half and remove the outer peel. Slice very thinly.

Cut the tomato into quarters and remove the seeds and core. Slice into a thick julienne.

Remove the leaves from the cilantro and mint and chop coarsely.

Measure the spices and lemon juice into a bowl.

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and season with salt and pepper
