Growing Chefs! Ontario has had a busy couple of months to start off the Fall season!
Last month, we hosted the first annual SOUPer Bowl at the Grove in partnership with Clayworx: Ceramic Arts Learning Centre, and Urban Roots London. The event was a smash success – we hosted over 150 people for an afternoon meal of delicious soups, made by GCO! Chefs, using produce from Urban Roots London, with attendees taking home their unique hand-made bowls from the potters at Clayworx.

Yesterday, the Middlesex London Food Policy Council hosted the Cultivating Resilient Food Systems Summit at The Grove at Western Fair District. The day opened with an Indigenous ceremony led by Elder Mary-Anne Kechego and featured panels on strengthening the regional food economy, supporting local producers, and ensuring equitable access to food.
Workshops and discussions invited participants to explore London’s food landscape, local food sovereignty, and opportunities for collaboration. The event brought together farmers, educators, policy-makers, and community leaders to share ideas and build a more connected, inclusive, and resilient local food system.
