Ingredients
1 cup staghorn sumac berries, about 3 clusters1/2 cup sugar2 lemons, juiced4 cups water mint for garnish, optional

Gather your mis en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Remove the berries from the wood, and separate into clumps.

Measure the sugar.

Cut the lemons in half and squeeze out as much juice as possible.

Get Cooking!

Bring the water to a boil and add the sumac and the sugar. Let steep for about 1530 minutes.

Strain the sweetened sumac tea into another container, discarding the solids. Add ice to cool it down or put it in the fridge. Add the lemon juice and mint sprigs if desired. Serve chilled.
