Sticky Toffee Pudding Sauce

A classic sauce for a classic British dessert.

1 1/2 cups muscovado brown sugar1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) unsalted butter, softened1 cup heavy cream1 tablespoon vanilla1/2 teaspoon salt1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom

Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

For the pudding: In a medium pot, combine the brown sugar, butter, cream, vanilla and salt. Bring to a boil and then simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 10 minutes.

Get Cooking!

Place the cake on a platter, pour the sauce over. Slice and serve immediately.
