Peanut Butter Bacon Cookies

Bacon and peanut butter? What could be better? Try it with a substitute as well, works great with sunbutter!

Ingredients
1/2 cup bacon fat1/2 cup peanut butter1 cup brown sugar1 tablespoon maple syrup1 egg1 teaspoon baking powder1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

Get Organized!

Gather your mis en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

In the stand mixer bowl combine bacon fat, peanut butter and brown sugar. Mix on high speed with the paddle attachment until mixture lightens in colour.

Add the egg and maple syrup and let mix for another minute.

Add the flour and baking powder and mix on low speed for 30 seconds, until mixture is just combined and smooth.

Get Cooking!

Roll the dough into balls and place onto a parchment lined baking sheet with about 3 or 4 centimeters between them. Press down with your hand or a fork to flatten the dough.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, until the edges just begin to darken. 

Remove from the oven and let cool on a cooling wire rack for 5 minutes before enjoying!
