Ground Beef Taco Filling

This classic Tex Mex filling gets an upgrade with your own taco seasoning mix! Make up an extra batch and store in an airtight container so you’re always ready for Taco Night!

Taco Seasoning Mix

Ingredients
2 tablespoons chili powder1 tablespoon ground cumin2 tablespoons cornstarch1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika1 teaspoon ground coriander1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

4 pounds ground beef1 onion, diced1/4 cup water or stock Grapeseed oil Salt to taste

Get Organized!

Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Measure all taco seasoning ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

Dice the onion. Measure out the water or stock.

Get Cooking!

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil In a pan over medium heat. Add the onions and saute for 5 minutes, or until translucent and softened slightly. Add beef and break up into chunks. Season well with salt.

When meat has mostly browned, add taco seasoning and cook for 30 minutes while stirring. Add the stock, and scrap up the bit on the pan using a wooden spoon. Cook until the liquid has mostly evaporated and meat is completely cooked through. If the mixture is too dry add more water or stock.
