Get Organized!
Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment and ingredients needed for the recipe before you get started.
Get Prepped!
Measure out all of the spices into a bowl and stir together. Measure out the butter-flavoured olive oil and set aside. Measure out the popcorn kernels.
Get Cooking!
If using an air popper: omit the cooking oil. Follow the manufacturer directions to pop the corn kernels.
If using a heavy bottomed pot: heat over high heat. Add the oil and popcorn. Cover with the lid and wait for the corn to start popping. Shake the pot every 15 – 20 seconds. When the popping starts to slow down, with about 10 seconds between ​“pops,” quickly pour the popcorn out into a large bowl.
Pour the butter-flavoured olive oil onto the popcorn and stir to combine. Evenly distribute the spice mixture. Taste for seasoning and enjoy!
