Beef Kofta

This Middle Eastern dish is a cross between a meatball and a shish kebab. Packed full of tasty spices, it goes perfectly with some fresh pitas and hummus!

Ingredients
1/2 teaspoon allspice1 teaspoon ground coriander1 teaspoon cinnamon1/4 teaspoon black pepper1/4 teaspoon ground cloves3/4 teaspoon cumin1/4 teaspoon nutmeg1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper1/2 bunch parsley1 small onion1 pound ground beef Salt to taste

Get Organized!

Gather your mise en place; get together all of the equipment needed for the recipe and gather your ingredients.

Get Prepped!

Cut the root off and top off of the onion, then cut in half. Peel the outer skin off and cut into quarters.

Cut the stems off of the parsley and discard.

Measure out the spices.

Get Cooking!

Preheat the oven to 400°F

Place the parsley leaves in the food processor and pulse until they are finely chopped.

Place the onion in the food processor and pulse again until it has been finely minced.

Add the beef and spices and puree until all of the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Take the meat mixture out of the food processor, then take 2 ounce or golf ball sized pieces out and form them into an oval shape.

Place the koftas on the baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, then flip them over and bake for another 10 minutes, until they are cooked through.
