Join the ​“Ordinary Ingredients, Extraordinary Meals” cooking class planned by our community’s future NFP leaders at Western. A fun and engaging class teaching you to use what you already have in your fridge to avoid food waste and live more sustainably!

What to Expect: Prepare to experience our high-energy, hands-on cooking class! Come explore some great sustainable and unique ways to whip up a meal with delicious ingredients found in the kitchen! Led by our amazing Chef team, we will use common grocery ingredients to create extraordinary recipes for you to enjoy, with professional instruction and a sit-down meal – prepared entirely by YOU.

Ages: 19+

Growing Chefs! Ontario holds a valid catering licence, meaning we are a fully licensed space during private events. We work with various Ontario companies to bring you the tastiest beverages our region has to offer, further supporting our mission to #supportlocal. A cash bar will be available, accepting cash, credit and debit cards.

Pricing: Adult Cooking Class tickets are $100 per person.

2 and a half-hour high-energy, interactive cooking class and a multi-course a sit-down meal!

Have you ever been too tired to go grocery shopping but still wanted to cook and eat well without ordering out? We are here to help you make tasty recipes with common ingredients found in your fridge! Think about it? Being good to yourself and eating sustainable meals can be done together. Prepare to be surprised how tasty and affordable eating sustainably can be!

  • Bruschetta
  • Fettuccine alle Vongole
  • Polpettone with roasted potatoes , arugula salad with lemon vinaigrette and Parmesan
  • Crostata di frutta

Location: **REVISED: This class will be held at our original. historic Headquarters location at 460 King St. (at Maitland – the former Auberge du Petit Prince restaurant). Accessibility: our washrooms are located on the second floor accessed via a staircase, therefore we cannot consider ourselves an accessible space.

Food Allergies:
Don’t let a dietary concern prevent you from participating in our classes! Our Chef team is highly experienced in managing dietary requirements, so please reach out to us to discuss. **Our Chefs can accommodate menu items to be gluten free for most” of our menus, but we do need to state clearly for Celiacs that flour is used throughout our space and during our cooking classes and we cannot guarantee there will be no cross contamination, especially regarding airborne concerns. If this is a concern, please contact Julia at jsantia4@uwo.ca prior to booking this class, as we may not be able to
accommodate.**

Cancellations: Refund or cancellation requests must be communicated directly to Emily at
events@​growingchefsontario.​ca a minimum of 7 days prior to class. These classes are extremely popular and fill quickly, and we will open your spot to our waiting list. If cancelled with less than 7 days notice, you will be provided a tax receipt for the remaining donation amount, with our thanks.

Additional Information:
Please come prepared to cook: wear comfortable clothing, closed-toed shoes and tie back any long hair. You will be provided with a Growing Chefs! apron to borrow during the class; and most importantly, bring a positive attitude and be ready to have SOMUCH FUN!
