Growing Chefs! Ontario: Holiday Baking: An Intergenerational Cooking Class

What to Expect: Celebrate the season with a festive evening of holiday baking! This hands-on class is designed for pairs: one adult and one child (ages 10+), to bake side by side while learning tips and techniques from our chef instructors. Everyone will roll up their sleeves to mix, bake, decorate, and of course, taste a variety of holiday favourites. Each pair will take home a box of cookies to share (or keep!).

Ages: Children must be 10+, and adults of all ages are welcome!

Location: The Intergenerational Baking Class will be hosted at The Grove at The Western Fair District, located at 900 King St.

Monday, December 15^th 6 – 8:30PM – FULL

Pricing: Our Intergenerational Cooking class is offered at $80. This includes programming, and a box of cookies to take home (about 2 dozen!). There is also an option on the registration form to donate $5 to our Food Education Subsidy Fund, every little bit you can give helps!

Chocolate crinkle cookies

Holiday sprinkle shortbread bites

Cranberry orange with white chocolate blondies

Cardamom sugar cookies with Royal icing (we’ll make the dough ahead, for you to finish baking and decorating!)

Spicy gingerbread cookies (we’ll make the dough ahead, for you to finish baking and decorating!)

Food Allergies: Do to the nature of this class, we will NOT be able to accommodate dietary restrictions. Please review the recipes linked above to know if this class is right for you. Accessibility and Inclusivity: We are proud to announce our facility at The Grove can accommodate wheelchair users. We also have a gender-inclusive washroom available and are a safe space. Please let our staff team know of any mobility or any needed accommodations in advance, and we will plan accordingly.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Cancellations must be communicated by email to Education Programs Manager christy@​growingchefsontario.​ca as early as possible.

Cancellations received more than 14 days before the class will receive a full refund minus an administrative fee of $10 per ticket.

Cancellations received less than 14 days before the class, provided we are successful in refilling their spot, are eligible to receive a full refund minus an administrative fee of $10 per ticket. If we are unsuccessful, despite efforts in filling their spot, a partial refund of 50% will be offered.

Cancellations received within 3 days of class, are ineligible to receive a refund, except in extenuating circumstances as approved by the Education Programs Manager. We are unable to offer credits to future classes, or to transfer the spot to another participant of your choosing.
