Officially introducing The Beet Café!

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

Drumroll, please.

We would like to make the official introduction of the ever so lovely The Beet Café!

As previewed at May’s Grickle Grass festival, we will be cooking up yet another delicious storm at Sunfest this weekend in Victoria Park.

Come visit and let us fill your bellies and your hearts, as every dollar we make goes right back into The Beet – an educational, skill-building program for youth with a focus on healthy food preparation, hospitality and business development. Led by some of London’s top chefs, Growing Chefs!’ youth staff lovingly prepare delicious food all while learning invaluable life skills.

We will be at Sunfest as of bright Thursday morning, so even if you can’t make it to the festivities, consider taking a break from your busy work day on Thursday and Friday for a quick scrumptious lunch with us.

And what you’ve all been waiting for, our menu from Thursday ‘til Sunday!

  • Bacon bourbon caramel popcorn
  • Butternut squash mac and cheese
  • Kale and quinoa salad
  • Pork carnitas tacos with poblano salsa, queso fresco and radish sprouts
  • Pollo de tinga tacos with crema, white onion, and radish sprouts
  • Black bean tacos with smoked cashew salsa, salsa verde, and micro cilantro

Now come on out because we can’t wait to see you, and you will want to see the amazing results first hand the of Libro Credit Union's Community Builder Grant!

(And just to be clear, after your first taste it is perfectly acceptable to come back every day and fall in love with us all over again. Just sayin’.)
