The Beet - Close to Home!

Saturday, July 19, 2014

Did you know that our backyard is in every meal The Beet Café makes?

Come taste your home with us at our stand at Home County Festival in Victoria Park this weekend!

Here are some of the businesses and farms who grow our food:

Currently supplying our with kale, early season tomatoes, green onions, red onions, cucumber & strawberries. They are a small-scale family-run operation, specializing in rare and unique plants that are native and hardy to this region. And they're even carbon-negative!

Supplying all other produce - These guys make an awesome effort to offer a 'local diet' (within 250 km).

Supplying our meat - where would our pollo de tinga taco be without them? The animals are fed non-GMO corn which is grown on the properties and ground daily, and is free of antibiotics and hormones.

  • Williamson Farms, Port Franks - 519-243-2900

Supplying our meat - we bought them clean out for our pork carnita tacos!

Supplying our garnishes for our tacos: radish sprouts & micro cilantro. They are a family owned greenhouse, producing greens since 1987.

Supplying our organic herbs - The owners provide a wide variety of organic herbs, many are very rare and of incredible quality, either potted or sold in bunches to restaurants.

Come swing on by! We're so excited to fill your bellies and your hearts.
