Holiday Meals 2020

Friday, December 25, 2020

Would you like to host a Holiday party for your staff with a socially conscious twist? During a global pandemic? Well… the good news is - you still can! It’s just going to look a little different this year!

Unfortunately, due to Covid19, hosting your group at our HQ isn’t possible this year. BUT, we still want to help our Corporate clients celebrate responsibly ~ and by doing so, it allows you to simultaneously support our small, local charity, while contributing to food education in our community.

Our Chefs are truly remarkable and our mission is to provide you with delicious, seasonal, LOCAL foods whenever possible. Chef Katherine and her team have put together an AMAZING menu, that your group will PICK UP from our HQ, for you and your employees, to enjoy SAFELY at home (or at your socially distanced event).

The menu is posted below, and we are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions, provided the information is given to us a minimum of one week in advance. This 3-course menu is available for $50pp+hst; there is a minimum of 30 meals required, and we can accommodate a maximum of 150 meals.

Please note that ALL guests are to have the same meal:

COURSE 1:
  • Parsnip and apple cider soup ~ OR
  • Winter greens with pickled apple, shaved fennel, roasted beets, toasted pumpkin seeds and sherry vinaigrette

COURSE 2:

  • Stuffed pork loin with squash and sage, pork jus, celeriac potato mash, and braised cabbage with apple and leeks ~ OR
  • Brined turkey with thyme gravy, rosemary sourdough bread pudding, and maple roasted root vegetables

COURSE 3:

  • Egg nog cheesecake with gingerbread crust ~ OR
  • Sticky toffee pudding with winter fruits

We thank you in advance for your interest in booking a Holiday Meal with Growing Chefs! Ontario. For more information, or to book your group pick up meal, please contact Jen Wyant: jen@growingchefsontario.ca

Growing Chefs! HQ works on a social enterprise model, meaning all funds raised flow directly back into our food education programming. Prior to Covid19, event income provided ~25% of our annual revenue. Funds that were directed to our School Food Education Project.

On pick up day, the following instructions/protocols are in place for meal pick up:

Due to Covid19 we are limiting the contact our staff have with visitors to our space, and therefore prefer to keep meal pick ups outside. In case of inclement weather, we will use our side/covered pizza area for the pick up location - otherwise, the pick up location is just inside the gates of our HQ patio space.

We will have a dressed folding table set up for checking in. This table can either be manned by our staff, or a Corporate representative if desired. If manning the table yourselves, you will be required to wear masks at all times, and will need to fill in a Covid pre-screen online, prior to arrival, to ensure contact tracing is available at all times: https://form.jotform.com/202576267904259.

Guests will be alloted a 3-hour pick up window on the day of your event (to be determined by Event Organizer). Growing Chefs! will have one or two staff members assigned to deliver your packaged meals from our kitchen, to the side delivery door ~ and to cross reference the pick up list / package contents. We will also dedicate a majority of our parking lot to your arriving guests for pick ups.

If you have questions regarding these protocols, do not hesitate to reach out at any time.

WE HOPE OUR COMMUNITY ENJOYS A HAPPY, HEALTHY HOLIDAY SEASON!
