1,000 Apron Challenge

Have you heard?

With the holiday season quickly approaching, Growing Chefs! Ontario is officially launching its 1,000 Apron Challenge Fundraiser. By selling tea towel children's aprons, we are raising funds to help us keep delivering our projects without passing any cost on to our participants and their families. Aprons are $10, one size fits all, and handmade with love by more than a dozen of our wonderful volunteers.

If you would like to join our apron-making brigade, we are always looking for new sewers! We are hosting an apron-making workshop on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7pm - no crafty skills required. If you would like to sew them for us at home, you can pick up an apron-making kit from our office (just email us at info@growingchefsontario.ca for available pick up times.) You can download our instruction sheet here. Last but not least, would you like to donate tea towels to our cause? We love colourful ones in particular, with a regular weave (we find waffle weave doesn't hold up to sewing quite as well.) Thank you in advance!

And these aprons make great presents and stocking stuffers!

If you are interested in purchasing an apron:

  • Online: Please email Sunni at info@growingchefsontario.ca to place your order.

  • In person:

    • You are welcome to pop by our downtown office to purchase an apron. Please email us to make sure the office is open when you plan on stopping by.

    • If you are purchasing several aprons, we would be happy to deliver them to you as well - we can come to your place of business downtown, or deliver to your home after 5pm.

  • We will also soon have the aprons available for purchase in a variety of local businesses - that list will be posted below soon.

With each purchase of an apron, you are helping us reach even more children and get them excited about healthy, wholesome food. Thank you so much for your support!
